Jahdira Atkins, better known as Billy B, is one of the newest female rappers out of East New York, Brooklyn. The Filipino/Black rap-tress currently resides in Los Angeles, but stays true to her New York City roots. And it’s evident in her music. Don’t let her pretty girl swag fool you. Billy B goes hard on the mic.
“I just want to express myself and my lifestyle and the lifestyles of those around me,” says Billy. And she’s done so with a couple notable projects already under her belt. Her debut project, “Buck 50” was released on DatPiff last Augut (2015) and was the epitome of sexy-meets-hardcore-Rap.
After a Complex-featured video with Skeme, a YouHeardThatNew premiered single, a HuffPostLive “Freestyle Friday” appearance and a new Missy Elliot inspired single, Billy B ended 2015 on a high note. Her obvious growth is evident in her refined sound, confident delivery and dynamic lyrical content.
Keep your eyes and ears out for Ms. Billy B.
