In a day and age where we are accustom to instant gratification, it’s becoming more and more popular to, well, be popular. Following what’s hot right now is an easy way to make a quick name. Anybody with a Mac book and a HD camera can put out the next trending song. But what happens to those artists? Usually not much after there 15 minutes is up.
Dyme-A-Duzin makes the kind of music that transcends the latest trends. Sticking to the traditional boom bap east coast style of Hip Hop, his latest project “Hip Hope”, shows some promising moments for the upcoming emcee.
He comes out swinging with his opening track “The Real $wank”. He not only takes a few shots at artists with no substance, but also displays some technical rapping abilities that make those jabs hit a little harder.
The thing that stands out most when listening to Dyme-A-Duzin is that he not only brings substance into his lyrics, but is not shying away from making catchy songs and hooks. The song “My Season” Featuring Courtnie, he delivers a laid back melodic hook, but even with a laid back flow his verses hit hard. And even Dyme-A-Duzin’s most main stream friendly song “Body on Me” Featuring Casey Veggies is an easy listen.
Technical rapping, true to yourself lyrics, swag, and catchy songs, what more could you ask for? I’m excited to see where Dyme-A-Duzin’s career takes off to next.
