[Sunday Event Alert] “The Freedom Cypher” Featuring Lightfoot

Wreck Shop’s Freedom Cypher (in combo with Tommy Forge/ Solidified Music) is closing in & you can bet that you will find real hip hop there. Already having been covered in Dig Boston, this weekend’s event is getting some nice publicity. It is an open studio environment for cypher participants to try out new ideas and engage in collaborations that may never have happened outside the creative zone. I can definitely speak to the fact that people who find out about each other here form a special bond. They are also using the space to showcase local merchants and visual artists. RSVP to the event on Sunday here. At 6 PM at the Democracy Center in Cambridge, MA (Harvard Square).

Lightfoot, one my favorite producers from the area is the featured producer this month – whom’s production the participants will be rapping over. It’s an incredibly friendly place always: there are not many realer communities than the Wreck Shop Movement. You are always treated as family and that’s what owner Justice Born looks at it as.

Not only that, but DJ G-7 will be providing DJ Cuts over the beats, as USUAL. That is an incredible blessing to have – not to be taken for granted – to add that real hip hop element.

Here’s one of my favorite Lightfoot beats “Good Morning” ft Fran-P & Andrew Milicia. The man has amazing traction on his SoundCloud page and from what I’ve heard of his engineering skills – they are amazing.
