Moe Pope & Rain – “Sunday Morning” // “Cocaine” Dual Video: preview of STLGLD album

To get you hyped up for the upcoming album STLGLD, with Moe Pope/Arcitype, Moe Pope & Rain bring us some visuals for his “Sunday Morning” track off the “Let The Right Ones In” album combined with “Cocaine” which is the first single off STLGLD. Previously I reviewed the ‘LTROI” album and called it a classic of 2013.

What a lot of people don’t know and as will you see is that Moe played the guitar for the “Sunday Morning” track. Tea Leigh brought in vocals for that track, and Moe Pope did not rap on it. These people want people to recognize they are musicians: not simply one thing: like JUST a rapper or JUST a DJ. They are true musicians.

I was at a Moe Pope/Rain/Chris Talken concert the other day and Rain was playing 48 instruments, and even rapped on one track. They are the definition of versatility. Let the Right Ones In was a completely sample-free album with just a lot of talented guest musicians for their instrumentation, and these guys know how to have fun.

To hear more of what The Arcitype and Moe Pope have done together, you can check the track “Glory“: full of dopeness. A member of the Tan Vampires did the horns on this track. And it’s another example of Moe’s rawness in his boombap ballericious rap style.

Here’s a shot of Moe Pope traveling down China-Town in the video, with some people wondering what the hell he’s doing. They need to get with the movement!
